Car lockout questions
I am locked out of my car. What should I do first?
Make sure you and anyone with you are safe. If a child or pet is inside the car, or you are in danger, call 911 first. Otherwise call us on 877-744-8472 and tell us where the car is and what you drive.
What will you ask me when I call?
Where the car is, the make, model and year, and whether the keys are inside the car or lost. That is enough for us to tell you what we can do.
Will you ask for proof the car is mine?
Before a car is opened we may ask for reasonable proof that it is yours or that you are allowed to use it, such as ID that matches the registration. That keeps other people's cars safe too.
Is a lockout always available?
Car lockouts are dispatched right away. A technician calls you within 10 minutes. When you call, we tell you honestly whether we can help and when.
What if my keys are lost, not locked inside?
Tell us when you call. Opening the car does not replace a lost key, so we talk you through getting a new key for the vehicle as well.
Do you open buildings or business premises?
Our lockout help is for cars only, including business and fleet vehicles. We do not do home, office or building lockouts.
